GAND outdoors its maiden Advisory Council. Hurray!!!

In a pivotal moment for our professional body and its history, the Academy proudly announces the establishment of our inaugural Advisory Council, ushering in a new era of collaboration and strategic guidance. The appointment of the Advisory Council is in accordance with Article 6 of the GAND constitution and the Governing Board out doored our Advisory Council members during the Annual General Meeting that was held at the KNUST School of Business Auditorium in Kumasi.

Comprising a diverse group of seasoned professionals and industry leaders, the Advisory Council is poised to steer our association towards greater heights. Their collective expertise spans various sectors, from academia, nutrition programming, dietetic leadership and innovation to policy advocacy and community engagement.
This significant milestone underscores GAND’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and leveraging a wealth of experience to drive our mission forward. The Advisory Council will play a vital role in providing strategic insights, mentorship, and thought leadership to shape the future trajectory of our association.
Key Objectives of the Advisory Council:

  1. Strategic Planning: The council will actively contribute to the formulation of long-term strategies, ensuring our association remains agile and responsive to evolving industry dynamics.
  2. Mentorship and Guidance: Members of the Advisory Council will serve as mentors, sharing their wealth of experience with our team and guiding emerging leaders within the association.
  3. Industry Advocacy: With representation from diverse sectors, the council will champion industry-related advocacy initiatives, amplifying our voice on key issues affecting our community.
  4. Innovation and Growth: Focused on fostering innovation, the council will explore opportunities for growth, partnerships, and initiatives that align with our association’s mission and values.

In his introductory statements, the President of GAND, Prof Kingsley Pereko said:

As we unveil our Advisory Council, GAND is embarking on a journey of collaborative leadership. The combined wisdom and strategic acumen of these distinguished individuals will undoubtedly propel our professional body to newer heights. “
