The Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (GAND) membership has about 600 + practitioners, scientists, researchers and students which continues to grow.
Membership Categories
GAND is the only body in Ghana representing the workforce of food and nutrition professionals, and it is open to all nutrition and dietetic professionals both based in Ghana and abroad. Members include registered dietitians, registered nutritionists, sports nutritionists, dietetic students, nutrition students, and all persons with an interest in food and nutrition.

Full Membership
Any individual who has pursued and successfully completed a programme of study in Nutrition and/or Dietetics at an accredited institution at the tertiary level with a minimum of a diploma and is registered with the Allied Health Professional Council

Associate Membership
Any individual and / or health professional who has pursued and successfully completed a nutrition and /or dietetic programme of study in an accredited institution at tertiary level and who is committed to nutrition research, practice and whose normal work has a direct bearing on nutrition and/ or dietetics.

Honorary membership
Any person who, though not a member of the Academy or a Nutritionist/Dietitian, who, contributes significantly to the progress and development of Nutrition and/or Dietetics in Ghana.

FELLOW of GAND
Members of the Academy who have worked extensively in Nutrition and/or Dietetics with a post-graduate degree preferably a PhD, who have made significant contributions to research, and/or ground breaking solutions to national and/or global nutrition and/or dietetics after submission of application and careful consideration by the governing board upon the advice of an established Peer Review Committee shall be conferred a fellow of Nutrition and/or Dietetics.
Constitutional Amendment
SENR Membership
Any individual or has pursued and successfully completed a sports and exercise nutrition programme of study in accredited institutions, and are qualified and experienced to work autonomously as sport and exercise nutritionists, who attend to people participating in physical activity, sport and exercise for health and athletes.
